Update…One Step Closer

We have waited for this moment for over a year. Labor Day weekend, 2018, we went under contract for the perfect property for Three Rivers Respite. Six weeks later, our house remained unsold, and we had to back out of the contract. Fast forward to Labor Day weekend, 2019, Hurricane Dorian was barreling towards the East Coast and we were forced to evacuate inland. We had just had a 3rd showing a few days before, but we figured any chance at an offer would wait, but we were used to that by now…waiting. Yet, as we were driving out of town before the hurricane, we received an offer. We returned 3 days later to sign the final contract on the sale of our house, then submitted the contract on this exact same property, which was accepted. Now we are living in a sea of boxes and more chaos as we prepare for a big move for our family, but a move that we are very excited for. We can’t wait to see what God will do with Three Rivers Respite, our family, and foster care in South Carolina.

So, what is next for Three Rivers Respite? Once we get settled in, we will begin the long process of identifying the exact location of the camp on the property, working through the permit processes, building the access road to the location - and a bridge over the wetlands – and construction of the camp facilities. We need your help – we need to raise money to build the camp facilities and we need prayer – prayer for the property, prayer for children in foster care, prayer for the future of Three Rivers Respite, and prayer for our family as we embark on this journey. Will you pray with us? Would you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter or making a one-time donation (click on the donate tab above)? Lastly, we will need plenty of volunteers as we get going. Click on the Volunteer tab and share your information and how you would like to help.

We are excited to share more of our story and more of this journey as we move forward. Thank you for your support!
