October Girl's Camp Re-Cap

What a way to end our 2025 camp season! This camp was packed!

There is no way we could fit into this one article all of the pure joy, love, and beauty that defined our final girl's camp weekend of 2025. But we will attempt to provide a glimpse through this brief newsletter.

We had 15 campers and 7 amazing volunteers for this camp. It was packed!

From canvas painting to conquering fears and campfire worship led by our friend Lydia, every moment was special and each girl shined in their own beautiful way. Devotions in the chapel reminded us not to worry, but to trust in God's provision (Matthew. 6) and we each picked temporary flower tattoos to "consider the lillies".

We also took a trip to the local pumpkin patch and enjoyed a hay ride and feeding the cows. It was a weekend full of crafting, conversation, devotions, and fun exploring the trails.

Camp is a time to cut off from the cares of this world and reset together through breathing fresh air, moving our bodies, laughing and soaking ourselves in God's beautiful creation and His truth found in scripture.

This weekend we all experienced that and more. It is a gift and honor to be in this space with these children, giving them time to lay down their worries and be kids, because for some of them, their childhood has been stolen by pain and trauma.

We are reminded to become like children for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them - and to us camp feels like a slice of heaven on earth.

"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God." Luke 18:16.

A huge thank you to Gracie, Lydia, Ruthie, Lola, Domonique, Liz, and Karen for pouring your love into these girls. What a truly wonderful group of volunteers to spend the weekend with!

And this concludes our 2025 camp season. We will have a full season re-cap next month, but this was without a doubt the best year yet. We have been so blessed by the kids and families we get to serve and have loved sharing camp with these children.
