What a year! Our 2025 camp season was our biggest and most ambitious yet.
As we set out at the beginning of the year to plan our camp schedule, we always pray about what God would have us do through these camps, and how we can continue to grow our number of camps and serve as many families and kids as possible.

We typically plan out the camp year in January, after the holidays and after we have some time to rest and process through the previous camp year. This is always a fun time to reflect on lessons learned from the previous year and look forward to the upcoming year.
In January 2025, we took a step of faith with our camp schedule, trusting that God would make a way through it all. And He did! We had our biggest year yet, and we are so grateful!

When we planned out our 2025 camp calendar, we wanted to provide more camp opportunities for kids in foster care, and more respite opportunities for the families. Our goal is to serve as many kids and families as we can.
With that in mind, we doubled the number of overnight tent campouts, going from 4 in 2024 to 8 in 2025. We also felt God leading us to do a week long day camp, which we did in July with a week long Boy's camp.

We had planned a week long Girl's camp as well, but, lesson learned, we need to have the school calendars in front of us when planning our camp schedule! As our Girl's camp was planned for the first week of school in one district, and the week before the first week in others, we did not get a lot of sign ups, which is understandable as that is a busy time of year! We promise to do better next year!
The week long boy's camp was incredible! The days were long, packed, and hot, but the boys had a great time and it was the most rewarding camp experience we have had. The week long camp allowed us more time to focus on implementing TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) principles, including Nurture Group, which provided some downtime each day and also helped the kids open up more about their situations, sharing about their families, processing challenges they are facing, and overall supporting each other. We really connected with the boys beyond what a single overnight camp allows, and the boys were able to really connect with each other, sharing similar experiences, and able to support and encourage each other.

A common theme through our 2025 camps was community. Our initial vision for camp was to provide a place for the kids to build community with other kids who are walking through foster care and adoption, who have experienced similar situations, and understand what they are going through.
Through multiple camps in 2025, we saw this community grow. From our first spring Girl's camp, where the girls realized they were all in foster care or adopted, and began sharing their stories and comforting each other, to the last camp, where the kids were sad that they would not have an opportunity to come back to camp until 2026, we saw the bonds between the kids grow.

In 2025, we served more kids and families then we ever have, doubling the number of kids that attended camp in 2024. We had 76 kids come to camp in 2025! We also had multiple camps where we were at our maximum capacity of 10 kids for the weekend!
We also built tent pads to make a real camp site behind the pavilion. This area is perfect for our tent campouts! We also continued our partnership with Cornerstone Charter for boat days throughout the year.
We are so grateful for what God is building here. We can't wait to see what He will do in 2026 and beyond!

We are now in the midst of the holiday season, enjoying a brief season of rest with family and friends before we get back to planning in January.
Thank you all for your support in 2025. None of this growth would be possible without your support. And thank you to our many volunteers. You made our camps possible and are such a gift to us and the kids!
Thank you! We are thankful for our TRR community! We hope your Christmas season is blessed with rest and time with friends and family.
