July Girl's Camp Re-Cap

We held our Girl's Summer Day Camp July 20-23 with 5 girls attending and numerous volunteers throughout the week. As expected, it was hot outside, but we had plenty of water activities to keep us cool.

We started the week with an ice breaker and spent time each morning with a devotion and prayer before jumping into the day's activities. We also had a daily riddle to solve to unlock our refreshing popsicles and closed the week with another epic, Heather-led scavenger hunt. These scavengers hunts are a blast and may need to be a staple of future camps!

Monday we went out on another boating adventure with Captain Jay and Cornerstone Charter. The girls got to spend a few hours on the water and enjoyed some time swimming off the boat. As always, this was a highlight of camp. Once back at camp, they spent some time swimming to stay cool in the heat!

On Tuesday, we went to visit Hostetler Custom Cabinetry, where the girls got to tour the cabinet shop, hear about the process for making cabinets, learned about interior design, and got ot make their own name plates. They also got some floor plans to design their own dream bedroom after seeing some design inspiration from Mr. Chris. We finished the visit with lunch with Mr. Chris and his team. Thank you, Chris for opening your shop to us!

On Wednesday, we spent the morning making crafts and walking the trails before visiting the AquaPark. We spent the afternoon playing on the Ropes course and Aqua course. This was a highlight of the week for sure. The AquaPark is so much fun and the girls loved playing and jumping into the water.

Thursday, we closed camp with our normal morning routine, swimming, and the aforementioned epic scavenger hunt. The girls had to explore all over the property for their clues to unlock their cool treat. We were visited by the ladies from the East Cooper Newcomer's Club who brought us lunch and enjoyed a few hours hanging out with the girls. We closed camp in the afternoon with parents as we shared a slideshow of the week's activities and shared more about the week.

We want to thank our amazing volunteers who helped make this camp possible. We also want to thank the Fort Johnson Baptist Church family who continues to be so faithful in providing lunches and meals for our camps. They provided a meal every day this week! This was an awesome week with these girls and we are so grateful for the oppotunity we get to spend with these kids.
