Girls Camp Re-Cap - March 2026

What an action packed start to our 2026 Camp Season! On March 20, we held our first girls camp of the year and it was a full weekend! We had 6 campers attend, including 2 new campers, and 5 volunteers! This was one energetic group!

Camp started off with some craft time, dinner - provided once again by our friends at Fort Johnson Baptist Church - followed by an ice breaker, and then an epic scavenger hunt created by Heather. The scavenger hunt started off realizing that our camp possum (fictional, of course), Polly, locked the s'mores in a cage because she was jealous of watching the kids eat s'mores during every camp!

The scavenger hunt took the girls through woods along the trail and through an obstacle course on the bridge until they finally found the key to unlock the cage and the delicious s'more supplies.

The girls were very excited to free their s'more supplies and the night ended with s'mores and worship songs around the campfire. We had a couple of first-time tent campers and they did great and loved the experience of camping outside in their very own tents!

On Saturday, after a delicious outdoor breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon, and sausage, the girls enjoyed a chilly morning around the campfire before heading to the chapel for morning devotions and then enjoying a nice morning trail walk.

After devotions and a trail walk, we headed to Jeremiah Farm and Goat Dairy to hang out with baby goats. The girls loved the baby goats and were able to hold them and cuddle them. If you have never held a baby goat, you need to! They are the sweetest animals and so curious.

After the farm, the girls returned to camp for lunch and afternoon gamess. After lunch and cleaning up the tents, the girls enjoyed some time visiting our goats and playing in the woods.

This camp was a lot of fun. The girls were energetic and loved camping, playing in the woods, and snuggling the goats. We are off to a great start to this camp season and are already looking forward to our April camps!

We want to thank our amazing team of volunteers who made this camp possible. Thank you Melissa, Gracie, Ruthie, Lydia, and Lola!
