April Boys Camp Re-Cap

On April 11-12 we had out first overnight tent campout of 2025! We kicked off the season with our first Boy's Camp of the year and had 7 boys join us. This is the most boys we have ever had for a Boy's Overnight campout. It was a weekend full of fishing, hiking, gaga ball, field games, and of course, s'mores and campfire stories.

We want to give a huge shout out and Thank you to Matt's brother, Eric, and to Adrian for helping with this camp. We could not do this without your help!

Friday night started off with lots of games. Gaga ball was once again a huge hit. A delicious dinner was again provided by Fort Johnson Baptist Church, the boys demolished that meal! Friday night was capped off by some outrageous and silly campfire stories. These boys showed off their creativity and story telling skills with some good stories! We also had out share of S'mores to close out the night.

After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes all cooked outside, then we had a short devotion time in the chapel followed by a trail walk.

We concluded the morning with a lot of fishing. We spent the entire morning at the front pond fishing and playing. The boys caught quite a few small bass and they loved the peacefulness of fishing. It was a brief moment of calm before more games in the afternoon.

The afternoon was spent with more games and of course, a goat walk to the hill. It was a great weekend with these boys, full of fun, games, and of course, lots of snacks. These boys definitely threw down some snacks! We were able to welcome 3 new boys to camp, and they left asking when they could come back.

Our next boys camp is May 9-10. We also have a boys week long day camp this summer, July 14-18.
